A smile on my lips

                Tears buried deep

                Fits of laughter

                But screams within

                There I am

                Feeling alone

                Amidst a hundred others

                Smiling, talking, laughing

                They look so happy

                But are they?

Bruise me

With your words

And actions

Betray me

Dear stranger

Yet don’t pretend

To be a friend

Kill me

Stab a knife

In my back

But not a dagger

In my heart.

The Nightfall

So dark, yet serene

Filled with mysteries

Waiting to be discovered

Full of magic

Awaiting a reveal

Embrace the moonlight

For the heart is naive

Afraid of the unknown

And the unseen

Escaping the crowd

Chaos and echoes of the day

The night shall take you

To a world far away

Thoughts braiding into words

Darkness did it’s little trick

The mind is now a lot wiser

Than it has ever been.

You’re welcome

It was around 7pm. Under a huge banyan tree was a cobbler, surrounded by all things in this world that are worn out and dusty. I limped towards him, all thanks to the broken heel of my shoe. When he gave me back my shoe, which now looked brand new, I said “Thank you”. He gawked at me for thirty seconds as if I belonged to a whole other universe. “Never heard those two words”, I guessed. “Under the scorching sun or in the rain”, he said, “I sit here from 8am to 8pm. Come straight to me the next time you have a problem.”

Maybe it was his way of saying “You’re welcome”.

Also, a very Happy Independence Day to my fellow Indians. Jai Hind. 😊

Open the window

This is a little something I wrote to motivate myself during tough times. I captured the surroundings, which greatly inspired me to pen down my thoughts.

Hope you like it.

Open the window. Look around. There’s so much to see and so much to know. But what’s mesmerizing is that the world alters itself in accordance with our perception of it.

When you’re happy, you’ll see the sun, shining bright and the birds, flying across the blue sky, their chirping and chattering being music to your ears. When you’re at peace, your soul sways to the song of the rain and the smell of wet earth. If you’re sad, you’d look up to those grey clouds, that cage the beautiful, bright sun and makes the world so dark and gloomy.

Life is how you see it. Look around everytime you feel lonely and you’ll find a part of you in everything else. Sometimes isolation is healthy, it opens the window of your heart and helps you see that the world is youer than you
